EUGOV research group
The EUGOV research group (eugov.uab.cat) was the first group in Catalonia specialized in EU government and governance. The group was acknowledged and financed by the Generalitat de Catalunya as Emerging Research Group in 2003 and later on, in 2009, as a Consolidated Group. EUGOV has preserved this label since then. Its strategic lines of research are committed with the analysis of European Integration theories, EU institutional and decision-making system, policy-making, multi-level governance and European comparative studies. Between 2017 and 2022, EUGOV displayed a solid scientific production: 20+ Q1 articles (JCR/SJR); 4+ books authored and edited; 20+ book chapters; direction of 10+ competitive research projects. Noteworthy, the EUGOV research group is the driving force behind six European Projects of excellence: The Jean Monnet Chair in European Public Policies (2, UAB), the Jean Monnet Chair in EU Governance (UPF, 3) and the Barcelona Centre for European Studies (UPF).
As a research group, our main areas of expertise are:
- EU institutional dynamics and decision-making
- Power, democracy and legitimacy in the EU
- European policies
- Theories of European Integration
- Europeanisation
