Ana Mar Fernández Pasarín

Chair

Is an Associate Professor in Politics and Public Administration at the UAB (Autonomous University of Barcelona). Between 2009 and 2015, she was the vice-dean for economic affairs (Faculty of Political Science and Sociology, UAB) and between 2016 and 2018, the coordinator of the Political Science Unit of the UAB. She is the scientific coordinator of the EUGOV Consolidated Research Group and the principal investigator of the EUDEL Project: ‘Delegation in the Post-Lisbon Era: a quantitative analysis of comitology’ (UAB/EUI) funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (2018-2021). Her main research areas are European institutional dynamics and policies, with specific reference to the EU presidential system and comitology procedures.

Nuria Font Borrás

Teaching staff

Nuria Font is an associate professor of political science at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where she teaches graduate and undergraduate courses on EU institutions, politics and policy. She has been a visiting scholar at the European University Institute of Florence, the University of California at Berkeley, the University of California at San Diego and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is currently conducting research on legislative behaviour in the European Parliament, Euroscepticism, populism in Southern Europe and accountability of EU agencies. Her publications include articles at the Journal of European Public Policy, Parliamentary Affairs, Environmental Politics, International Review of Administrative Sciences, Administration & Society, Journal of Contemporary European Studies, Perspectives on European Politics & Society, and Ecology & Society.

Andrea Lanaia

Post-Doctoral Research Fellow

Andrea Lanaia (PhD) is a Post-doctoral research fellow at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). His main areas of expertise are energy and climate change policies. His doctoral thesis was on the implementation of EU energy and climate policies in Spain.

Andrea Noferini

Teaching staff

Andrea Noferini is an Italian researcher who lives and work in Barcelona since 2003. He holds a PhD in Economics from Universitá degli Studi di Firenze (2006) and a MA in Political Science from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2008). Currently is faculty at CEI, International Affairs (Universitat de Barcelona) and adjunct professor at the Department of Political Science at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Since 2012, he is affiliated faculty at IBEI where he teaches courses on the European Union. His research interests focus on public policies with a special emphasis on multilevel governance in the context of EU policy making. Some of his most recent researches analyze territorial cooperation (euroregions), cohesion policy, development cooperation, international relations, sustainability and the implementation the Agenda 2030. He has participated in several projects for different organizations like the United Nation Development Program, the European Commission, the Spanish Agency for Cooperation and Development as well as public administrations at the national, regional and local level.

Núria González Campañá

Associate Post-doc Researcher

Núria is currently an Assistant Professor at the Constitutional Law Department, University of Barcelona. She holds a PhD in European Law from Oxford University (Rafael del Pino and British Spanish Society scholarships). Her doctoral thesis, developed under the supervision of Prof. Paul Craig, focused on EU law and pro-independence movements within EU Member States. She also holds an MA in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School, at Tufts University (“la Caixa” scholarship) and a Degree in Law from the University of Barcelona

Daniel Navarro

Chair Assistant

Daniel Navarro holds an MA in European Integration Studies from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and a degree in Law from the University of Girona. His MA final thesis focused on citizenship by investment schemes in the European Union. Between 2021 and 2022, Daniel did an internship at the European Documentation Centre and joined the Jean Monnet Chair of European Policies of the UAB as a chair assistant. In 2023, he started working for the Barcelona Center for European Studies (BACES) as a research assistant.

Michelle Barrientos Alzate

Intern

Michelle Barrientos is an undergraduate student of journalism at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and she is interested in developing a career in the field of European Studies. Michelle endorses the Jean Monnet Chair as part of a scholarship programme in order to get introduced in the academic environment. She supports the chair in the organisation of the different activities and in the dissemination, helping to maximize the transfer of the research.

Paula Roger

Chair Assistant

Paula Roger is a senior university student in International Relations at the UAB (Autonomous University of Barcelona). She has shown a great interest for the European Union since a very young age as she did the program of ERASMUS+ at high school. During her time at college, she did an internship at the European and International Relations Service, at the city Council of Terrassa, and later she joined the European Center of Documentation and the Jean Monnet Chair as an intern.
